Daily in the morning or in the afternoon, we invite you to discover the city of
Montevideo, capital of the eastern republic of Uruguay, administrative
headquarters of Mercosur.
Founded
between 1724 and 1730, it preserves part of its architectural and cultural
heritage.
Cidade Velha e centro
To discover Montevideo, we
start our tour in the Old Town, from the City’s Port at the Mercado del Puerto
(maint gastronomic center in the city), to the Matriz Cathedral, Independence
Square, main street Av. 18 de Julio (the main commercial place of the city) and
then we continue to the Legislative Palace, the National Congress inaugurated
in 1925 by the Arq. Cayetano Moretti. It’s considered the third most beautiful
Congress in the world.
Mercado Agricola
Then we’ll visit the Mercado
Agricola, considered as National Historic Heritage. We’ll give some free time.
Estadio Centenario e beira-mar de Montevideu
From there we'll visit the
Centenario Stadium, declared World Futbol Monument.
Then we'll go to Batlle Park
where you can make some photos to the sculpture La Carreta.
Finally we'll cross through
the modern Carrasco neighborhood, to return to the Downtown visiting the
panoramic Montevideo Rambla (Promenade).
Return to the hotels and end
of our services.
Optionally we can leave you
in the Montevideo Shopping Center or in the Punta Carretas Shopping
Center.
